Jimmy wakes in the middle of the night to a strange sound coming from the attic. Not everything seems as cosy and straightforward at the old house as Jimmy had thought it might be. Is he still asleep and dreaming or is his new friend playing tricks on him? Meet a cast of characters as you take control of Jimmy and solve puzzles along the way to get through each day as it comes. |

STARTING If you own a copy of this game on CD, it is important to transfer all files into a separate directory on your hard disk drive, otherwise you will not be able to make any Save points during the playing of Jimmy the Squatter. If you downloaded this game from the internet, then you have obviously unzipped all files somewhere onto your hard disk drive, and I don't need to write anymore on the matter. To begin
playing the game, double click on the 'Episode02'
executable file. If you get a graphics card error, your system may not
support 640X480 resolution graphics and you will have to play it in a
640X480 window. Double click the 'Configuration'
executable and choose 'Window'
in the Screen options, then click OK. PLAYING THE GAME 'The misAdventures of Jimmy the Squatter' is a 2Dimensional Point-and-Click adventure game. For anyone who ever played the late eighties and early nineties Lucasfilm and Sierra style adventure games, this one will be immediately familiar. After
the short beginning intro, the credits end and Jimmy is alone in his first
location waiting for you to take control. By moving the mouse around you
will notice you have control of a crosshair. To the right of the Action Words on the Taskbar are your Inventory Slots. This is where Items that you pick up along the way will be displayed. Only six items can be displayed on the screen at any one time, if you pick up more than six you can use the arrow up and arrow down to scroll accordingly. Also, Right-Click is the Default action for Look at. When you hover the crosshair above an object that Jimmy can respond to, you will notice that Look at in the Taskbar is automatically highlighted. By Right Clicking on that object Jimmy will automatically give you a description of what he sees. TIPS FOR FIRST TIME PLAYERS If you're new to Point-and-Click adventure games then you will soon learn that looking at everything, talking to everyone and picking most items up will be extremely useful. Try to combine items that you've picked up with objects in your environment and look closely at items that are in your inventory. Sometimes Jimmy can give you a better description (read:HINT) when he is holding the item. THANKS To Zimond
for a great Game Engine and for his continuous support with coding issues. |
